Richard Jones

Originally from the UK, Richard has lived in Hong Kong for nearly 28 years and holds full licenses from the HKSFC, the Hong Kong Insurance Authority, and formerly the MPFA. He began his career with Lloyds Bank in London before transitioning into wealth management in the late 1980s and moving permanently to Hong Kong in 1997. Over the years, he has held senior roles with Towry Law, Lloyds TSB Private Banking, and CBH Asia Limited (a Swiss family-owned private bank), qualifying as a Responsible Officer for multiple SFC-regulated activities. He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Securities Institute, and a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in the UK. Since joining Holborn in 2022, Richard has focused on securing their SFC license applications, while continuing to provide ethical, bespoke financial advice and discretionary portfolio management to a loyal client base across Asia. Outside of work, Richard is heavily involved in benevolence and charitable causes, and established a registered society (the Hong Kong Savage Club) in Hong Kong in 2013 which has both charitable and social objects. He is also a Freeman of the City of London.
