About James
I have always been a fast learner and education came naturally to me. Deciding what I wanted to do with my life was harder as I found this such a permanent and daunting decision. Leaving school with top results, my parents presented me with the options of law or medicine, so I chose the former. I knew it would mean keeping my options open as I searched for my calling. I graduated with Honours in Law. Then, I went on to complete my Diploma in legal practice, leaving university in 2008.
Stock markets and Finance always intrigued me. Leaving university in 2008, when the news was dominated by the Global Financial crisis, piqued my interest further. Therefore, I decided to pursue my career in Finance, taking a role in Morgan Stanley in Glasgow. After 6 years, I decided to expand my horizons and moved to the UAE in 2016, where I have been a successful wealth manager ever since.
My priorities have always been on doing the right thing by clients and building my reputation and client base accordingly. I have been in a role at Holborn Assets for two years now. Holborn are a company which have allowed me to service clients within the moral framework with which I pride myself, whilst giving me access to the best products and providers in the industry.
I favour building long-term relationships with clients, providing them with bespoke and tailored advice to meet their present and ongoing needs. Working with international expatriates means that many financial issues can be complex. It is my job to simplify and explain these to clients to help them understand their available choices and to build portfolios to help them achieve their future goals.
