Katja offers over twenty years of experience working with High Net Worth Clients. She has amassed a vast amount of knowledge across key lending scenarios – as well as developing numerous professional contacts in her career spanning John Charcol, Knight Frank Finance and now Holborn.

Katja now specialises in offering mortgage and structured finance advice to UK residents, expats and foreign nationals. Over her career, she has been shortlisted for three UK industry awards.

    Notable achievements include being shortlisted at British Mortgage Awards in the category of Large Loans in both 2008 & 2009, as well as being put forward as a finalist by Woman’s Financial Adviser Group for Mortgage Adviser of the year 2005.

  • I began as a broker in October ’94, working for Hambro Countrywide who owned an estate agency and mortgage business. I would give advice to clients passed by my agency colleagues. Within 2 years I had progressed to a Senior Consultant in my region, along with one other colleague.

    I was headhunted to my next role at Royal & Sun Alliance, providing advice to clients referred by Barnard Marcus estate agency offices. It was here that I was contacted by an ex-colleague who had began working at John Charcol and he suggested that I send in my CV.

    And so, my London career began, in February ’99 I started at one of London’s most prestigious brokers. The buy to let sector was booming and we offered interesting products such as a 90% exclusive. Also 95% residential loans with a 5% top up facility. I amassed many clients and decided in Jun ‘04 to start my own business within the Thinc Group banner.

    I employed my own staff and we worked solely from repeat clients and referrals and in conjunction with professional introducers. I was highly successful, qualifying for the annual conventions, as I had done at John Charcol.

    When the world however changed, post-recession, I felt the need to acquire more private bank knowledge as the high street stopped lending over £1M, which prevented me from advising many clients.

    I joined Knight Frank Finance in ’09 and it was here that I developed further knowledge and acquired many private bank contacts. Affiliated with the Marylebone, Mayfair and County estate agency offices, I advised many high net worth and super high net worth clients.

    Once again in ‘14 I took this new knowledge to my own business, working within Enness, another very well-known London broker. The company however changed structure, so I moved to a smaller boutique arrangement in 2015.

    After a stint at Private Finance in ’17, whereby I utilised my extensive knowledge of working in conjunction with estate agents and looking after some of the most high-profile offices of a high-end estate agency I was approached by Holborn Assets to begin a new venture, offering mortgage and structured finance advice to UK residents, ex-pats and foreign nationals.

    We’re focused on lending in excess of £750k and its early days but we’re already successfully developing our professional connections and working with the other Holborn offices too.

    In her spare time, Katja has a huge passion for health and fitness – focussing on gym, pilates, running and good food.
