Ian is a Vice President of Holborn Asset's International Pensions Division, having worked in the Banking and Financial Services sectors for over 27 years.
Ian began his career in 1988 when he joined Lloyds Bank Plc. He spent the next 9 years working in personal and business banking, before gaining the Financial Planning Certificate in 1997.
As a qualified, authorised and regulated UK financial planner, Ian then worked for Britannic Assurance, Wesleyan Financial Services and Sun life Financial of Canada.
Then, in early 2001, Ian decided to set up his own business as an Independent Financial Adviser. Running his own company allowed Ian to focus on providing independent, holistic financial planning advice to HNW private clients.
Wanting to further his career - specifically in the offshore market- Ian took a position in Europe as a Regional Manager for Blacktower Financial Management International in 2012. Here he gained specialist knowledge in international pensions and pension transfers (QROPS/SIPPs).
Ian now focuses purely on advising private clients on how best to structure their UK pension provision; specifically in the case of the clients having accrued pension benefits in the UK and then decided to live overseas. It's a common situation, with it's own challenges.
