As Chief Operating Officer and Board Director of Holborn Assets Simon Parker has overall P & L accountability and is responsible for the implementation and communication of company strategy.
Amongst his executive roles are direct responsibility for sales, marketing, recruitment and lead generation.
Simon was educated at Repton School, Derbyshire, before gaining his Economics degree at the London School of Economics (LSE).
Following LSE Simon joined the international investment bank Morgan Stanley in their Hong Kong operation and then moved to the London office in Canary Wharf.
In 1998 he moved to Abu Dhabi to start a franchise of The Chartered Institute of Marketing providing corporate training solutions to local UAE companies. Following the successful launch and a number of high profile sales and marketing exhibitions he launched their sister organisation The Institute of Professional Sales which for the first time provided structured accredited qualifications to the sales profession.
Following this he created The Institute of Sales and Marketing a privately owned leading multi-million dollar turnover corporate and public training provider.
For a number of years Simon was also a political and business analyst on Abu Dhabi Radio where he partnered with Scotland’s Real Radio presenter Ewen Cameron and was a prominent contributor to Gulf Marketing Review.
Simon officially joined Holborn Assets in 2008, although prior to that he could regularly be seen around the office making tea for everybody. He says he likes to think he got the job through his hard work, long hours, dedication plus more importantly pure unadulterated nepotism. Simon has lived in the UAE since 1998 and is married to Alison (and his Phone!).
